TAQA (Now discontinued): TAQA stands for Training, Assessment, and Quality Assurance. It's an overarching term that encompassed a variety of qualifications for individuals involved in various aspects of vocational education and training. This included qualifications for trainers, assessors, and those involved in quality assurance roles. CAVA: CAVA, which stands for Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, is one of the newer specific qualifications . It focuses on assessing vocational skills, knowledge and occupational competence, preparing individuals to assess learners in both workplace and educational settings. There are two Awards within the suite: Award in assessing vocational skills, knowledge and understanding (for assessors within an educational setting), and the Award in assessing occupational competence in the workplace (for assessors with learners completing qualifications in a workplace setting). There are also separate Internal Quality Assurance qualifications - click on the IQA link for more information about these.
