Dear [Volunteer Coordinator or Deputy Head],
I am writing to enquire whether [Organisation Name] would consider offering me a voluntary teaching placement in support of my Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (Further Education and Skills), currently being completed through [Training Provider Name].
The qualification requires a minimum of 150 face-to-face group teaching hours with learners aged 14 and over. My subject specialism is [Subject / Vocational Area], and I would attend fully prepared with lesson plans and resources, working flexibly around your existing timetable.
I should also mention that a small number of my sessions are required to be formally observed by a member of staff holding a Level 5 teaching qualification or above. Each observation involves a 45-minute session and brief written feedback, and would place minimal demand on your team.
My availability is as follows:
Mondays: [Available / Unavailable] — [e.g. 9am–3pm]
Tuesdays: [Available / Unavailable] — [e.g. 9am–5pm]
Wednesdays: [Available / Unavailable] — [e.g. 9am–12pm]
Thursdays: [Available / Unavailable] — [e.g. Not available]
Fridays: [Available / Unavailable] — [e.g. 9am–5pm]
Weekends: [Available / Unavailable] — [e.g. Saturday mornings only]
Additional availability notes: [e.g. Flexible during school holidays / Evenings available on request]
I hold a current DBS certificate and am happy to provide any documentation required prior to commencement.
